Women’s Equality Day not only commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, but also highlights the continued efforts of women to achieve full equality with men. Here are 4 ways you can celebrate:

1. Write a thank-you letter to an
influential woman in your life.
Sometimes a few words of gratitude can
go a long way.

2. If you have kids, choose a historical female figure to research together. Take a trip to the library and spend an afternoon learning more about her. For example Emila Harhart.

3. Support a girls sports organization.
Cheer on your local girls little league
or soccer team.

4. Support a local business owned by a woman. Whether you’re shopping
in your city or online, make a point
to support a business that a woman
founded.
