There's nothing like the smell of a charcoal grill being fired up! Here are a few essential tips for preparing your grill for the perfect BBQ.

Choose your Charcoal
If you don't like a lot of smoke flavor, charcoal briquettes are the way to go. If you want to have a little more fun with it, and get more smoke on your food, go for the hardwood lump.

Start with a Clean Grill
It’s easier to remove debris when the grill is hot, so after preheating, use a long-handled wire grill brush on the grill rack to clean off charred debris from prior meals. Scrape again immediately after use.

Get it Hot
Preheat your grill 15 to 25 minutes before you start cooking to make sure it reaches the right temperature (and to kill any bacteria).
Grilling Policy: By order of The Fire Marshall, grills and propane tanks are strictly prohibited from use or storage on all patios and balconies. You must have your grill at least ten-feet away from the building. This will be strictly enforced. Please enjoy the grills provided by Silver Stream. We ask that each resident properly dispose of all trash and leave the grill clean for the next resident’s use.
