What Exactly is the Vernal Equinox? Spring Begins March 19th!

The 1st Day of Spring is Tuesday, March 19th!

The Vernal Equinox is one of two times a year where the sun's positioning results in equal day and night lengths across the globe. During this event, the sun rises precisely in the east and sets directly in the west, casting its brilliance directly over the equator. Typically falling around March 19th, the Vernal Equinox heralds the onset of spring in the northern hemisphere.
